bearstatic’s debut effort maps topographies based on personal encounters, sketchy reports and the imagination. Here, sounds familiar, from the cradle of civilization, and as heard from the womb, blow through even the remotest of landscapes.
bearstatic is Joseph Salvatore Aversano, an Ankara-based producer of lo-fi and quieter glitch music. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he eventually made his way across an ocean and several seas to where he studied classical Turkish Sufi music on the ney (a Middle Eastern reed flute).
